This page is primarily for the fun of cataloging the various unknown Fasa drawings of ships that where used in the 'backview' of many of the illustrations over the years of Fasa's Trek publications. Someone maybe interested in fleshing out the drawings and stating up the ships.
 
Considering where most of the images came from (usually above a planetoid and/or near military starbases), They where not intended to represent playable ships, rather they are there to show activity in the drawings.
 
It's been suggested that most of those ships are probably commercial designs for the private sector, work yards, transport etc... some of the ships maybe used by the governing planet/military for sub-contract use, such as the "LiL Tyke" Tug pictured below.

"David Tepool and Jordan Weisman sketched out some of the roughs on
the ships originally. Others were done by FASA artists and adapted by
David when he did the Ship Construction Manual. It's possible one of
those slipped into the cover that was never actually intended for
use. It isn't likely to be Gorn, as we were never working on those. It
may have been a Federation colony ship design -- but most of the
Federation ships used outboard nacelles. The design looks vaguely
Klingon to me, somehow..."-Guy McLimore

Mosby Class?

P9 of the second book indicates possibly a "Mosby Class"
Type of Federation starship, operated under the authority of Starfleet Intelligence in the first fifty years after the founding of Starfleet. The Mosby class was a scout ship designed for high speed and reconnaissance operations. The vessels of this type broke all Starfleet speed records for the time period, achieving warp factor 3.84 in secretly performed trials.
